I was called twice over the holidays by the LA Times and confronted with that very question in their fruitless attempts to get us to re-up our subscription to their paper. We stopped getting a daily paper about 6-7 years ago, and the Sunday edition shortly after that. Most of the paper went straight into the recycling bin after a cursory glance over breakfast, and even back then it seemed to be a colossal waste of resources. I stopped watching evening news programming on TV about 10 years ago, and before then, I was never a regular watcher.
