The lengths I go for Videogames
In order to get a Playstation 3 at something less than the usurious price Sony insists on charging for it, I applied for a Chase Playstation Visa credit card to secure a $150 discount on an 80GB model. I've got the card, and I'm gonna use it, possibly tonight. Stay tuned!
LittleBigPlanet Arrives, No Celebration Yet
I should qualify my headline: no celebration at my house yet. I'm waiting for our family financial situation to stabilize before taking the $500+ plunge into Playstation 3 madness. I'm hoping it may settle down prior to Christmas, but we can't justify coughing up that much cash for a game, no matter how desperately I want to play it. Those of you who know me realize that I am exercising an inhuman amount of restraint. Some folks buy clothes, shoes, electronics, music, DVDs, etc. to feed the consumerist lifestyle. My weakness is videogames.
LittleBigPlanet Release Delayed
This is sad in so many ways, and yet another unfortunate instance of the "Games" and "Politics" tags intersecting in non-fun ways:
Thirty Days to LittleBigPlanet!!
In case it wasn't clear, I'm planning on buying a Playstation 3, largely for this game. I haven't been this excited for a game since...dang...I don't know when! Maybe Pikmin 2?
Diablo 2 Did Not Age Well
For fun, I went and found my old Diablo 2 CD's and reinstalled the game to see what it was about this game that captured my interest for hundreds of hours so many years ago. One of the things that really blows my mind now is how dated the graphics look by today's standards. Even more so now that I have a video card and monitor that displays 3 times the resolution needed to play the game. I was willing to give ole D2 a pass on the outdated graphics, but the other thing that really interfered with playing the game (again) was the controls.
