About Mod-C Technology
I started Mod-C Technology over 10 years ago when I decided to expand my consulting business to include the Windows platform. Previously, I consulted under the rather boring moniker of "Macintosh Productivity" specializing in - yes, you guessed correctly - Apple Macintoshes. Since that time, I've consulted on many types of technologies and their applications, but I'm consistently told that I'm very good at explaining things to the average layperson, and helping them get the most out of their technology.
I've tried over the many years that I've had this domain name to create a website that others would find entertaining, helpful, or, if I'm lucky, both. This latest iteration of the Modctek.com website comes after an almost 3-year hiatus, which literally came about due to the blissfully life-changing event that was the birth of our daughter.
This time around, I intend to focus specifically on helping the average computer user understand various topics and concepts that will help them:
- Keep their computers secure
- Get more use and entertainment from their technology
- Simplify their technology lives
- Broaden their technological horizons
While this website will be most useful to the beginner or average technology consumer, I'm hoping that even seasoned IT pros will find something useful here, even if it's only as a convenient, linkable article that helps explain a topic that they are struggling to explain to someone.
OK, OK, I know you want to know where "Mod-C" came from! It's an acronym for "My own damn company", something I used to mutter constantly before I started consulting. "One of these days, I'm going to start my own damn company!"
